Christmas is my favourite time of year – I love absolutely everything about the festive season! Having children has made Christmas even more magical, the look on their faces on Christmas morning is priceless. I’ve been tagged in The Christmas Tag by Dilan And Me – only 2 days to go until the big day – find out a little bit more about why we love this time of year and what our favourite things are!
What’s your favourite christmas movie?
My favourite Christmas movie is definitely Miracle on 34th Street. I remember watching it for the first time and being completely mesmerised – plus I love the little girl in it who also plays Matilda in well, Matilda.
Have you ever had a white Christmas?
Never, and as much as I think it would be lovely, I’m actually glad. Snow is nice to look at but I’m always the one that slips over and I’m not a fan of the cold!
Where do you usually spend your holiday?
Always at home, I’ve never spent a Christmas away from my family and that’s the way I like it. I can’t imagine being away at Christmas!
What is your favourite Christmas song?
All I Want For Christmas Is You by Mariah Carey. Its cheesey, its soppy, its great!
Do you open any presents on Christmas Eve?
I get little bits for the children on Christmas Eve, new cosy pj’s and a nice festive book. But all presents are kept for Christmas morning.
Can you name all of Santa’s reindeer?
Rudolph, Prancer, Vixen… that would be a no.
Is your Christmas tree real or fake?
Fake! Can’t be doing with all the bits on the floor – one day maybe but whilst the kids are young I’m sticking with reusable!
What is your all time favourite holiday treat/food/sweet?
Baileys! I treat myself to a bottle every year at Christmas. Nothing nicer than relaxing with a glass of Baileys once all the Christmas duties are done.
Be honest, do you like giving or receiving gifts better?
I love giving gifts, I love showing people how much I care. But it is nice to receive things too.
What is the best Christmas present you ever received?
Sad but true – my electric mixer from my parents last year!
What would be your dream place to visit for the holiday season?
I love spending Christmas at home but if I had to choose anywhere it would be taking the children to Lapland!
Are you a pro present wrapper or do you fail miserably?
The first couple look almost professional, the rest are bodged! I think Smithy on Gavin & Stacey has the best idea – tinfoil – roll and crunch!
Most memorable Christmas moment?
I think my most memorable Christmas moment was opening presents with my child for the first time. Mia’s first Christmas was emotional for me, my first as a mum, I’d dreamt about it for years.
What made you realise the truth about Santa?
I honestly can’t remember when I found out that Santa wasn’t real. I hope my children believe for a few years yet.
What makes the holidays special for you?
Family – being surrounded by everyone I love.
I tag Hot Pink Wellingtons and Dear Bear & Beany!
