Long-term followers of The Adventures Of An Allergy Mummy may have noticed my dedication to using Free From Fairy Flour in my recipes over the past year or so, including my delicious spiced carrot muffins.

This is because Free From Fairy Flour is my gluten-free godsend, and I am honoured to count its creator, Vicki, as one of my friends.

Last July, Vicki launched the world’s first whole grain, rice-free, gluten-free flour blend. This whole grain, multi-purpose flour contains no unpronounceable ingredients or high FODMAP flours. Therefore it is suitable for those with a sensitive gut or IBS.

Both the self-raising and plain versions of Vicki’s flour are wonderful to work with, I am yet to create a recipe using Free From Fairy Flour that doesn’t emerge from the oven wonderfully golden and light.

    I make a tasty lemon drizzle cake but I usually have to add ground almonds along with the flour for a light texture. Would love to find a gluten free flour that means I can make one just as tasty that is nut free
