You’ve done it, you did it, your doing it.
It doesn’t matter which one of the above applies to you, either you’ve completed something, or your about to.
Negativity is what holds us back in life, the ‘I can’t’s’, the ‘it won’t happen’, the ‘what if something goes wrong’. They are all what stops us from reaching the goal.
It doesn’t matter what your goal is, be it big or little, silly or sweet. What matter’s is that your doing it, or you’ve done it. Some day’s your goal may be to make it till bedtime, other’s it may be make someone laugh. Goal’s give us purpose, a sense of foundation, and it’s the little reminders all around us that bring joy, hope and willpower.
Your tired, you ache, you don’t want to move. Your relying on other’s, depending on anyone but yourself. But then you see two small children, helping each other over play equipment, keeping tight hold of each other for balance. Those children are doing it, they are independently achieving something, with a little help they can reach their goal and you realise that with a little back up, a little support, you can do whatever it is you wish to achieve.
Your running on autopilot – plodding through your day as mundane as the autumn clouds. Ticking off a list of daily jobs with little excitement, but if you take a moment to appreciate the world, take in the autumn views of conkers scattered across the ground, crisp brown leaves floating in the wind, you’ll find yourself breaking away from the systematic thinking and realise that the world move’s along with us, so do we drag our heels or do we notice the little things, soak them in and appreciate them. All the while keeping with the seasons, changing, achieving, growing.
Little reminders that evolve our thought’s don’t have to be grand gestures, nor do they have to be material, false or forced. Find the beauty in everyday, that’s where you’ll find them, little reminders.
