Its common knowledge that most free from products these days are packed full of sugar and other unnecessary rubbish. Unfortunately this means that despite being free from some if not most of the top 14 UK allergens, they are still bad for us. A problem for parents feeding their child/children a free from diet who want to give their child/children the best nutritional start in life. I’ve never seen the need for ‘bulking out’ products with unnecessary additives and strive to avoid such products when feeding my children, my favourite packaged products are those that contain as little unpronounceable ingredients as possible.
I was incredibly pleased when we were kindly sent a small selection of Gosh! Free From products. The items we were sent included Beetroot, Kale & Quinoa Burgers, Sweetcorn & Quinoa Bites, Mushroom Puy Lentil & Butter Bean Burgers and Mixed Seed Quinoa Carrot & Coriander Bakes. All of the above products have a sugar content of less than 7% and every single ingredient is both pronounceable and healthy.
The first item we tried was the Sweetcorn & Quinoa Bites, after 20 minutes in the oven I incorporated a handful of bites into a delicious lunchtime wrap using Warburtons White Free From Wraps, lettuce and Tesco Free From Sour Cream which was devoured in seconds by both the children. Theo was completely unaware that he was eating something incredibly good for him and requested more before the first portion had even reached the summit!
The Beetroot, Kale & Quinoa Burgers were also used in wraps and sent off in lunchboxes, the beautiful purple colouring of these burgers is sure to brighten any dreary Monday. The Mixed Seed, Quinoa, Carrot & Coriander Bakes were served on a bed of new potatoes and cucumber, the coriander providing just enough zing to make these bakes incredibly moreish.
Each and every Gosh! Free From product we have sampled has been delicious, I can’t wait to see what Gosh! come up with next!
Gosh! Free From products are available at Morrison’s and Tesco stores nationwide.
